Our territory is crossed by the Dordogne Valley, rich in exceptional sites and landscapes and is located at the crossroads of the major tourist sites of the destination: the city medieval town of Sarlat, the major prehistoric sites of the Vézère Valley (Lascaux, Les Eyzies...) and those of the neighboring department of Lot. (Rocamadour, Padirac...)
The story
Lovers of wide open spaces steeped in history and enthusiasts of Prehistory are in the right place. Indeed, a few kilometers from our 3-star hotel in Périgord Noir, you will be amazed by the Rouffignac Cave, known as the “100 mammoths”. In Montignac, visit the Grotte de Lascaux 4, one of the prehistoric caves the most famous in the world. To observe the underground world, by boat or on foot, we invite you to go to the Gouffre de Proumeyssac and at the Gouffre de Padirac.

The Dordogne Valley is renowned for being home to a large number of exceptional castles. Currently under renovation, the Château de l'Herm will soon be open to visitors. Continue with the Château de Castelnaud, an essential place for enthusiasts of the Middle Ages or even that of Beynac which hosted the filming of numerous films such as "The Visitors", "Jeanne D'Arc" by Besson and many others. Finish with the Château des Milandes, the former property of Joséphine Baker. Don't miss the Maison Forte de Reignac, a “Château- Cliff” which will surprise you. The region is full of museums, don't miss the Musée du Chai de Lardimalie and the National Museum of Prehistory in Les Eyzies.

We advise you to start with a visit to the Garden of the Eyrignac manor, a natural gem. You will appreciate the different spaces, but also the exhibitions. Continue your discovery of the natural spaces of Périgord Noir with the Jardin de Marqueyssac. Discover the 6 kilometers of walks bordered by more than 150,000 boxwoods, lookout points, rockeries and stone huts.
L'architecture
In less than an hour, you will be in the most beautiful towns of the Dordogne. Start your journey with Sarlat, medieval village renowned for its panoramic elevator (which offers a superb view of the city), its church rehabilitated by the famous architect Jean Nouvel, its narrow streets paved... Continue with the discovery of Périgueux, labeled “City of Art and History”, and its numerous monuments: the Saint-Front Cathedral, the Mataguerre tower, the Museum of Art and Archeology of Périgord and the Vesunna Museum. Finish with a visit to Bergerac which will charm you with its old town, its Maison des Vins, the National Tobacco Museum and its market on Saturday morning.

The region has no shortage of hikes and walks to do on foot, by bike, by boat(on the Dordogne in Gabareand canoe-kayak rental) or by car (les Rallyes de la Marterie). Our team will be able to tell you which trails to take depending on your level and your desires.
